Pamukkale Opening Hours

Daily opening hours for Pamukkale and Hierapolis, including seasonal changes and holiday schedules.

Pamukkale and Hierapolis are open every day of the year, including Mondays, with summer (15 April – 30 September) and winter (1 October – 14 April) seasons. The site is genuinely vast and the summer hours start at dawn — the South Gate opens at 06:30 to let early visitors catch sunrise on the travertines. The on-site Hierapolis Archaeology Museum and Cleopatra's Antique Pool have their own shorter hours within the site times. See our best time to visit page for quieter slots and the visitors guide for what to do once you arrive.

Opening Hours FAQ

Hours, holidays, and last admission

Is Pamukkale open on Mondays?
Yes — Pamukkale and Hierapolis are open every single day of the year, including Mondays. The site has no weekly closing day. Cleopatra's Antique Pool may close occasionally for maintenance, but the travertines and ruins remain accessible.
What time is the last admission?
Last admission is roughly one hour before closing — 20:00 in summer (gates close 21:00) and 17:00 in winter (gates close 18:00). The Archaeology Museum closes earlier (19:00 summer, 17:00 winter) — head there before late afternoon.
When do summer hours start and end?
Summer hours run from 15 April to 30 September — the South Gate opens at 06:30 to catch sunrise on the travertines and closes at 21:00. Winter hours (1 October to 14 April) are 08:00–18:00 at all gates and considerably shorter.
Is Cleopatra's Pool always open?
Almost always — 08:00 to 20:00 in summer with last entry at 19:00, and 08:00 to 17:00 in winter. Closures for short maintenance periods happen occasionally; check on the day at the poolside office, or call the site information desk.
What about Turkish national holidays and Bayram?
The site remains open with normal hours on most Turkish national holidays (Republic Day 29 October, Victory Day 30 August). On the first morning of religious holidays (Ramadan Bayram and Sacrifice Bayram), the site may open later (10:00 instead of 08:00); after the first morning, normal hours resume.
Can I visit the museum without a site ticket?
The Hierapolis Archaeology Museum is inside the gated archaeological area, so you need a Pamukkale + Hierapolis ticket to reach it. The museum entry itself is included in your site ticket — no separate fee.
How long can I stay inside once I've entered?
As long as you like, up to closing time. The ticket is valid for the entire day — leave and re-enter (same gate, same day) is generally allowed if you keep your ticket. Cleopatra's Pool is the only exception: a 2-hour swim limit applies in busy season.
